Pave The Way for BETTER Schools

Tired of the way Port Huron is heading? As Mayor i plan to revitalize all of Port Huron and fix the roads in the south end that have been forgotten about and crumbling for far too long due to the current mayor's negligence and bias against the south side. As Mayor, i promise to help bring jobs back to the south end in addition to restoring the prosperity and confidence in our town that was once there a decade ago but has since been lost due to the current "leadership" in which we have. AS mayor, i will implement policy changes within our educational system and help push for a change in the testing and the way our students are taught. a couple years back, the Valedictorian of Port Huron Area Schools was giving her commencement speech and noted that the only thing she learned while attending PHAS's (Port Huron Area Schools) was to "whip whip and nae nae." Someone who is supposed to be the smartest, best, and most outstanding student in our school system only learned a "dance" move while attending our schools.

Its not her fault though. Who's fault is it? Its at the fault of the Superintendent who lacks the knowledge and experience to fully execute their jobs. its at the fault of the school system for continually failing our students due to holding them to the lowest standard possible in the State of Michigan for High School Curriculum. Because of our schools low standards, our students can't even write a proper essay heading into college at St. Clair County Community College (SC4). Our students can't get a stable or above minimum wage job because our schools have failed to taught them the necessary education needed to thrive in today's world. Our schools have failed our students and under my mayoral leadership, i plan to initiate the PAST movement which is Parents Against Standard Testing and plan to push the superintendent of PHAS's to increase the requirements to graduate, make plans to exceed the states requirements for standardized testing and hope to someday help PHAS become a Michigan Blue Ribbon of Excellence school system. Under my leadership, I WILL help Pave the way for BETTER schools.
