ABOUT TRAY SMITH

Tray Smith has a tremendous passion for economic empowerment, entrepreneurial development and innovating the minds of people of all ages through God’s love and financial literacy. Economic equality is the mission and Tray firmly believes that the tools and concepts of financial literacy have the ability to build confidence, tenacity and social consciousness which are pivotal to developing a thriving society.
Tray Smith was born in Warren, Ohio. At the early age of 14, Tray began ministering the gospel as an evangelist and a gospel event organizer and in the same year under Pastor Alton Louis Merrill Sr. leadership was called to ministry. In 2003 during his Senior year at Warren G. Harding H.S. in Warren, OH, Tray commissioned and birthed a unique ministry focused on youth and young adults entitled “The Chainbreaker Experience.” Through this movement, he was able to create a countywide bible club in Trumbull County that focused on touching and connecting many high schools in the state of Ohio.
Upon graduating high school he started his freshmen year at The Ohio State University as a History major and in 2005 submit to his calling once more and left to attend Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, GA as a Community International Economic Development major and Biblical Education minor. While attending Beulah Heights University, Tray worked as the Chief Executive Officer of The Reformation Project, and Chief Program Manager at The Life Changing Movement Inc. in Atlanta, GA where he was able to increase target-market program growth by 27% through designing and launching a new strategy, increased investment ca from capital300% within one month by spearheading and implementing a highly effective marketing campaign, and exceeded a business goal of 25% market share for one program, propelling overall market share beyond 35%; served as the Youth Pastor at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Miami, FL, was and was named the Community Organizer & Senior Pastor at The Experience for six years.
In 2011, Tray Smith married Shantell M. Smith, originally from Atlanta, GA who is also an ordained minister. With this Godly union, Tray proudly and instantly became a family of four. Currently, Tray is the Senior Pastor at Faith Christian Community Church in Port Huron Michigan and is the Executive Director of Experience The Mission a nonprofit has assisted in fundraising efforts for The Media Arts Program, The Earl D. Shoulders Jr. Transitional Home for youth who have aged out of foster care, build an organic mini-market, The Narcotics Anonymous Program (NA), and provide Non-Profit Management Services to citizens living in the cities of Port Huron, MI, Atlanta, GA, Memphis, TN and Nashville, TN and other cities around the U.S.
Tray Smith truly cares less for titles, but values the opportunity to serve wherever the Lord sees fit! His vision is uncompromisingly clear, with one central principle; to build and develop a community of empowered people. His motivation and objectives would be no different in this position as Mayor, to build and develop a community of empowered people...ALL people.
